Christoph Nußbaumeder was born in 1978 in Bavaria. Since 1999 he has been living in Berlin. He studied law, German literature and history. Since 2005 he has been working as a free lance author, film assistant, author and director of a documentary. He wrote the plays TO THE SOUTH SEAS BY GHERKIN-PLANE, LOVE IS JUST A POSSIBILTY and OPEN DOORS among others. His plays have been staged - for instance - at the Ruhrfestpiele Recklinghausen, Schaubühne Berlin and at the Nationaltheater Mannheim. He received several scholarships like the Thomas-Bernhard-Stipendium and took part at the International Residency for Young Playwrights 2005 at the Royal Court Theatre in London. Christoph Nußbaumder's plays are published by the Suhrkamp Verlag.
